I have had problems with this hard drive for a while, so I decided to buy a new one and replace it. I got Acronis True image to clone y drive but it keeps on failing.
Any idea why and how to fix it.

N.

It seems like your hard drive is dying.
The best option is to delete all useless files (if possible), put the hard drive in the freezer (1hr), connect back and do your transfer as fast as possible.

Good luck.

hello. Is the hard drive we are talking here is the hard disk? Is it really true that you can put it in freezer and then it will work? How does this happen? thanks...

If you have another computer, you can download and burn the Ubuntu Live CD using a very simple application called ImgBurn. Otherwise, you can bug one of your friends to help you burn a copy.

Just open up ImgBurn, and click the icon to “Write image file to disc”

Getting a new computer often requires repeating much of the same setup configuration you originally did with your old computer. And even after all the reconfiguration, you still don't have your data from the old computer. Locating this data and figuring our how to move it can be a significant challenge. The Windows® XP operating system streamlines this process with the new Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. By providing clear instructions at each step, the wizard walks you through the process of automatically gathering your files and settings from your old computer and transferring them to your new computer.
